CARROT IDLI

INGREDIENTS

Black gram dal - 1 cup
Idli besan          - 2 cups
Baking soda      - 1 pinch
Carrot grated     - 1/4 cup
Salt to taste
For coriander mix: grind to a coarse paste
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
Green chilies       - 2
Cumin powder     - 1/2 tsp

DIRECTIONS

1.  Soak dal for 3 hrs, soak besan in water separately for 1 hr mix both.
2.  After 2 hrs drain the water and grind till soft, keep aside.
3.  Squeeze out of the water from besan and add to the gram batter, mix well.
4.  Place the mix in a warm place for 8 hrs.
5.  After fermentation add salt and soda mix well.
6.  Add the ground coriander leaves mix and mix well.
7.  Grease idli maker plates with some oil, place a tsp of grated carrot in each
      and pour the batter over it.
8.  Steam covered for 12 mins. Ready to serve...
